In Italy, used prosthetics are classified as “custom-made medical devices” and, once no longer used, are considered waste. However, many components of these prosthetics – such as hands, feet, stems and titanium hooks – are perfectly reusable. Thanks to the Karma on the Road project and the support of Humantech Group, it is possible to recover these mechanical parts and donate them to people in less developed countries, guaranteeing them a new opportunity for life and mobility.
